The Creative Children Development Programme (CCDP) is a non-governmental and non-political organization that works to promote the rights, welfare and development of children from marginalized backgrounds through education. CCDP full-time workers are accountable to a non-member committee who operate CCDP. The project was established in 1999 and since then has expanded from the city of Pokhara to the surrounding countryside.

Currently there are 200 children who are receiving partial support in the community, spread over 19 districts of Nepal. There are also 18 children receiving full support and staying at the CCDP home.

Two Testimonies -     I am Yubraj Pariyar.

I am 18 years old and I passed SEE with 2.40 GPA from View Point Secondary Boarding School. I live in CCDP children 3  home, Pokhara-15, Tutunga. We used to live in Beni which is about 5 hour's bus ride from Pokhara. While we were in Beni, I slipped from the stairs and broke my leg at the age of 3. My mother used to work as a laborer while my father used to bring apples from Mustang and sell in the market. One day my father lost his way and it was found that he fell from the hill and died. We were poor and helpless. My mother worked for four years in Beni and suffered from leprosy.  In order to treat my mother, we came to Pokhara, Green Pasture Hospital INF (GPH). I used to stay with my mother in hospital while my sister was kept in Palpa Children Home. I was with her all the time when she was under observation and treatments. I use to roam around the hospital and I was very naughty at that time. Shankar uncle used to teach me in his small literacy school of INF GPH. Through Shankar uncle, I got the opportunity to read and write. With his help I also got a chance to stay in the CCDP home.  I was 7 years old when I came to CCDP. I started to study from Nursery class. It was hard for me at the beginning because I was older than other kids at my class. Slowly I adapted to the environment and now I have reached to class 8. I was a naughty boy as a child; but now having had lots of counseling and encouragement, I am able to do better in my studies. My mother always wanted my sister and me to live together. We were in different place when we were small so with the help of Shankar uncle my sister was able to come to Pokhara. Now my sister also lives with me in CCDP home. After few years of treatment of my mother, she had reactions in her skin. They performed the entire test and found that my mother had skin cancer.  My mother was in last stage of cancer and there was no hope for her but miracle happened. Jesus saved her life and she is doing well now. She is working and earning for her livelihood. She lives around 30 minutes walking distance from us. Sometimes we visit her and during long vacation we stay with her. She is 36 years old now and works as a tailor.  4  I am very happy to get a chance to live in CCDP home and study. I am very thankful for Shankar uncle, his family and all the people for providing this opportunity for my sister and me. I am very happy now. In the future I will support CCDP.

At that time my brother was in CCDP children's home so she talked with Shankar uncle about me, and I got the chance to come into the CCDP home.
